A rogue operative named Joel Joseph, who had refused to take orders from his own agency and disappeared from its radar after assassinating a major leader in Canada. Then he was spotted in the United States, where he was carrying out the murders of high-profile individuals connected to government and administration— people whose connection with him proved to be a major challenge for the investigating agencies to establish.

Everywhere he appeared, he showed his real face, as though he were simultaneously challenging everyone to identify him. Even those who had originally placed him on the mission could not understand why he had turned against his agency, or what objective now drove him to kill people who appeared to have no connection to any interest of his and with whom investigators could establish no link whatsoever. Why, then, was he doing it?

Then there were two figures connected to the drug-trafficking network operating in New York— Bolin and Sambrel— whom the FBI and DEA had been pursuing for three years in an effort to bring them within the reach of the law. Yet no evidence could be found against Bolin, while there was not even a trace of Sambrel.

He was like a ghost— someone whose very existence could not be firmly established, leaving people to question whether he even existed at all. Three agents were sent by the Indraprastha Intelligentsia— Sangram, Sabina, and Vipin. For Sangram, a painful part of his past was connected to this very city and to Bolin and Sambrel. A woman had lost her life at the hands of Bolin and Sambrel simply because she had participated, at Sangram’s insistence, in a joint operation between the FBI and DEA— and Sangram had been unable to do anything to stop them.

Now they had arrived in New York for Mission Renegade. On one side, they had to reach Joseph, the man carrying out seemingly random murders while leaving no lead behind him. On the other, Sangram had to find Bolin and Sambrel and settle the score that had remained unfinished for years. Would they succeed in Mission Renegade? And could Sangram, putting his previous failure behind him, finally bring Bolin and Sambrel to the fate they deserved?
